一点ごとに日本古来の染色方法である墨染めを行い、特殊な加工を施してあります。
Each piece is individually hand-dyed using sumi-zome, a traditional Japanese ink-dyeing technique, and finished with a unique treatment.
稲妻紋の様なユニークな柄は、一つ一つ手仕事ゆえの異なった表情を見せます。
The result is a one-of-a-kind pattern reminiscent of lightning bolts—each bag revealing a distinct character born from handcraft.

バッグのフロントには真鍮のメダルに、一文字ずつ手作業で「THE FLAVOR DESIGN」を刻印。
On the front, a solid brass medallion is carefully hand-stamped, letter by letter, with “THE FLAVOR DESIGN.”
11号帆布生地の二重仕様で、開口部が広くバッグの内側には3つに分かれたポケットがあり、筒状の袋のようになっているため物の出し入れがし易いのがポイント。
Made with double-layered No.11 canvas, the bag features a wide opening and three internal compartments, making it both sturdy and highly practical.
Its cylindrical shape ensures easy access to your belongings.

持ち手の革紐は二連にするとハンドルを短く持つことができ、一連で絞ると肩にかけて使用することが出来ます。
The leather strap can be doubled for a shorter handle or drawn into a single loop to wear over the shoulder—offering versatility for different carrying styles.

持つ人の使い方や経年変化でそれぞれのアタリが出てきます。

SUNSET CRAFTSMAN CO.（サンセット クラフツマン カンパニー）は岡山県の赤磐に工房を構えております。
戦前に建てられた公民館を改装し、その工房だけを切り取ると、まるでアメリカの田舎町に迷い込んだような雰囲気。
そんな工房の中で、静かに真摯なものづくりが存在しています。
長年アメリカ全土でヴィンテージクローズのディーラーをしてきた金山拓平氏。
大量生産の効率重視ではない丁寧なもの作りの後に、手にした人が長く使い込んだものを見続けてきました。
そこからやがて、本当に必要なものだけを作りたいという思いに辿り着き、ヴィンテージクローズのように長く愛用し、使い込むごとに味が出る佇まいにこだわったものづくりに取り組み始めました。
1人の手で生地の裁断から縫製、そしてペイント、レザーパーツやプレートの切り出し、刻印、組み上げ等、すべての工程を行うことで、高い品質を保ち続けていることは大きな特徴の1つ。
ミシンを使う縫製作業以外は、フルハンドメイドによって、堅牢かつクラフト感溢れるものづくりを行っています。
アメリカ全土を回る中で、金山氏自身が一番気持ちよくすごした町がカリフォルニア州・サンセット。その土地の名前をブランドの名前にしているのは、理想的な気持ちの良い環境でものづくりをしたいという思いに由来しています。

SUNSET CRAFTSMAN CO. is based in Akaiwa, Okayama Prefecture, where its workshop is housed in a renovated public hall originally built before World War II.
Step inside, and you’ll feel as if you’ve wandered into a small rural town in America—quiet, timeless, and full of character.

Within this space, craftsmanship is pursued with quiet sincerity.

Founder Takuhei Kanayama spent years as a vintage clothing dealer across the United States. Through countless encounters with well-worn garments—used and loved over decades—he came to value the kind of craftsmanship that isn’t driven by mass production or efficiency, but by the idea of creating only what’s truly necessary.
That journey led him to begin producing items that, like vintage clothing, age beautifully and grow more meaningful over time.

Every process—fabric cutting, sewing, painting, leatherwork, stamping, and final assembly—is handled by a single pair of hands.
This dedication to fully integrated, small-scale craftsmanship is one of the brand’s defining qualities, ensuring consistently high quality.
Aside from the use of a sewing machine, nearly everything is done by hand, resulting in durable, richly crafted items full of character.

While traveling across the U.S., the place Kanayama felt most at peace was Sunset, California.
The name of the brand reflects his desire to create in an environment that feels just as comfortable and inspiring—somewhere where good things are made slowly, honestly, and with intention.
